Ted Kennedy: Friend or Foe to Obama's political career?
| Ever since I heard Barack Obama speak at the last DNC, I was inspired. He talked change like other candidates had not; he talked about moving away from Washington politics, which I believe most of the country wants. Yet, like John Edwards before him (2004 Edwards), a great orator, only sometimes equates to great statesman - but neither have really taken that chance; they have little experience. Sure, they both talked big, but little change his come to this country because of either of them. Now that Edwards is out - and Obama in - I wonder about the advantage of Obama taking an endorsement from the likes of Ted Kennedy. Is it to suggest he is experienced? To get more fundraising from the East coast liberals? Maybe. But at what cost ? Bringing in one of the more liberal and arguably more dividing figures in the senate? And how does that distance Obama from the Washington politicians? Alas.
