With Dodd, Biden, Kucinich and now Edwards out of the race, it looks like it's just Obama and Clinton to choose from if you are a Yellow-Dog Democrat. As I see it, though, there aren't that many dyed-in-the-wool Democrats left (pardon the pun). I wonder what would happen if Hillary and Barack teamed up to help their cause rather than beating each other into a pulp: providing the GOP with enough ammo to win the war. The folks in the DNC should be helping them figure it out - and muzzle Bill Clinton while they're at it.
If Clinton and Obama played their cards right, they'd figure out a way to appeal to the majority of Americans rather than just the young and idealistic. When all is said and done, whomever gets the Democratic nomination will have to deal with the upcoming (my prediction) McCain/Giuliani ticket. These guys (GOP guys) could pull it off since they cover the whole spectrum of fear-based politics - and we all know how more people vote out of fear than out of optimism (sorry Barack).
Guess we'll see. I'm just sad to see the end to Kucinich's entertaining (yet valid) positions and the spicy flavor he brought to the campaign. And Edwards is going to missed for his populist message about what this is all about: keeping America strong by concentrating on the middle class. Sad day to see him go but I guess it was inevitable.
